Next year, the VCE Conference Series will be held at The University of Melbourne, Parkville Campus, Victoria and the chosen theme applicable across all the VCE disciplines is: Contemporary Science, Continuity and Change. We trust you will enjoy exploring this theme as you create experiences for teachers which will lead and inspire excellence. We also encourage you to address the specific needs of teachers in your chosen discipline, in light of changes to the respective VCE Study Designs.
As you would be aware, STAV’s VCE Conference Series is a key feature in the calendars of VCE teachers of the Sciences. We anticipate engaging over 1,000 Science teachers throughout the series from Monday 12 February through to Friday 16 February 2024. One key hallmark of STAV’s conferences, is the quality of its conference programs. This is due to STAV’s long-held commitment to ‘hero’ the educator. Hence, at the core of STAV’s conference design has always been the philosophy of teachers educating teachers across a range of relevant contemporary issues and practice.
The intended audience includes not only teachers of the VCE Sciences, but also laboratory technicians, members of the education research community and tertiary sector, and all others with an interest in VCE Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science and Psychology.
We will keep you up to date with the keynote speakers shortly. Alongside the upcoming inspirational keynote addresses, STAV’s VCE Conference Series 2024 will present chief assessors’ reports, VCAA updates, discussion panels, and practical workshops. Please note that the University of Melbourne’s Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories are available for suitably qualified presenters, and that additional risk assessment requirements will apply.

Furthermore, all workshop presenters (and one co-presenter per workshop) will receive complimentary registration to the conference as well as a small gift of thanks. If you are new to presenting, you can enquire with us to request the support of a mentor to guide you. Please go to the relevant link/s to application forms below to register your session/s.
