Prizes & Awards

All students who enter the Science Talent Search will receive a certificate and are eligible for Bursary Award Prizes.

Schools also become eligible for special awards.

Student Certificate and Bursary Awards

Major and Minor Bursary Certificate and a Sponsored Prize
Awarded to outstanding and exceptional projects in each section.

Distinction Certificate
Certificate awarded to projects of high standard and quality deserving of special commendation.

Merit Certificate
Certificate awarded to projects of very good standard and deserving recognition for their work.

Acknowledgement Certificate
All other projects entered receive a Certificate of acknowledgement for student’s participation and work.

School Awards

Schools with a very high standard of entries across all the sections may be nominated by the STS Management for the following awards, sponsored by various partners and supporters.

Peter Craig School Award
 
Named after Peter Craig who was an integral part of the Science Talent Search committee from 1980 – 2015 and instrumental in the management and evolution of the competition.
 
4 x $250 prizes go to:

* Secondary Non-Government School

Hugh McKnight Encouragement Award
 
Named after Hugh McKnight who was instrumental in the conception (1952) and organisation of the competition in its early years.
 
4 x $150 prizes go to:

* Primary Non-Government School
* Secondary Government School
* Secondary Non-Government School

Exhibition and Presentation Day

The Science Talent Search celebrate student achievements each year with a special Exhibition of bursary winning entries and Presentation Ceremonies of bursary awards to students.
