STAV invites educators, researchers, and science education professionals to submit abstracts for STAVCON 2026.
We’re seeking dynamic presentations that explore innovative, evidence-based, and practical approaches to teaching science across primary and secondary levels. Whether you're developing curriculum-aligned resources, testing new pedagogical approaches, or integrating cross-disciplinary thinking into your practice, we want to hear from you.
Presentation Formats
- Hands-on workshops
- Classroom-ready resource demonstrations
- Interactive presentations or case studies
- Panel or roundtable discussions
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and clearly outline the session’s focus, target audience (primary, secondary or both), and relevance to the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.

Notification of acceptance: September 2026
STAVCON: 27th October 2026
STAVCON, as you may know, is one of STAV’s flagship conferences. Its audience is diverse and includes teachers of primary and secondary science and STEM, laboratory technicians, and members of the education research community and tertiary sector. In terms of the depth, breadth and richness of offerings, STAVCON is unique.
The call for sessions will close at 5:00pm (AEST) on Monday 20 July 2026.
