Each year the Science Talent Search (STS) celebrates the imagination and scientific thinking of Victorian primary and secondary students, offering opportunities to investigate, innovate, and showcase their work across a variety of topics and disciplines.

2026 Theme: Seeds of Science – Nurturing knowledge for all
The 2026 theme encourages students to see science as a living, evolving process. Just as seeds need the right conditions to grow, knowledge flourishes when it is nurtured, shared, and applied to real-world challenges. Students are invited to plant ideas, ask questions, and develop projects that demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

The 2026 STS Handbook, including entry guidelines, key dates, and program information, will be released in early 2026. Keep an eye on this page for updates and announcements as the program is finalised. You can view a copy of the 2025 Handbook here as a guide.
